For Teams · UX & Design

Usability in the contexts your product actually lives in.

Indeemo for UX researchers, product designers, and design teams. Take usability beyond the lab and into the kitchen, the commute, the second screen, the messy real day. Watch real interactions on real devices, then iterate at sprint pace.

Why UX & Design Teams Use Indeemo

Three things Indeemo adds to UX and usability research

Real interactions on real devices

Lab and remote sessions tell you a lot. Indeemo adds the unmoderated reality alongside them: the participant's own device, their own browser, their own environment. The tap that misses because they're holding a baby. The error state that only shows up when signal drops on the commute. The behaviours that surface when the product is used the way it's used every day.

Usability across the days the product has to survive

Onboarding doesn't happen at a desk. The friction that kills retention happens later in real use, after the first session. Run longitudinal, in-the-moment usability so you see the product across the days, weeks, or environments it has to survive. Watch a participant come back to a feature they abandoned, and find out why.

Insight that keeps pace with the sprint

Design teams work in sprints. Indeemo turns days of capture into highlight reels, tagged clips, and quote searches that product designers can pull into a Figma comment or a stand-up the same day. The faster the participant gets in front of the designer, the fewer assumptions sneak into the next iteration.

How Design Teams Use Indeemo

A usability study, at sprint cadence

Four stages, one platform: plan, capture, analyse, deliver.
01
Plan
Targeted screening for the users, devices, and contexts your flow has to work in. Cohort by usage frequency, device type, market, or life stage. Schedule in-the-moment task prompts that fit the rhythm of real use: morning onboarding, end-of-day reflection, a triggered task the moment the user reaches for the product. Mix screen recording, selfie video reactions, environmental scans, photos, text responses and ratings to match the question you're asking.

02
Capture
Participants run tasks on their own device, in their own context. Screen recording with audio narration shows the actual scroll, the actual tap, the actual hesitation. Selfie video captures their face and tone in the moment. Researchers stay in the loop, nudging participants, releasing follow-up tasks, keeping the conversation alive across the study.

03
Analyse
AI transcription and translation across 30+ languages. AI-assisted theme detection and clip search across hours of session video. Search across every session, every task, every quote. Watch how friction shifts across the study window, day by day.

04
Deliver
Highlight reels designers can drop into a stand-up. Tagged clips stakeholders can watch in 90 seconds. Exports that drop into tools like Figma, Notion, and Slack: share the moment, not the 40-page deck. Observer access for cross-functional teams so PM and engineering see the friction too.
Where Indeemo Fits

How Indeemo fits UX research

Dimension
Common approach
What Indeemo adds
Testing environment
Usability sessions run in a lab or remote setting, often on a provided device within a scheduled slot.
Capture on the participant's own device, browser, and environment, alongside whatever lab or remote sessions are already planned.
Cadence
Moderated sessions scheduled with each participant, typically at a set point in the project.
In-the-moment task prompts that can run across days or weeks of real use, in parallel with scheduled sessions.
Evidence captured
Notes, recordings, and observation from each session, written up after fieldwork.
Screen recording with audio narration, selfie video reactions, photos, environmental scans, and ratings, captured as the participant works through the flow.
Deliverable
Findings decks and session recordings assembled and shared once analysis is complete.
Exportable highlight reels, tagged clips, and transcripts that travel into your own decks and design tools, plus observer access for cross-functional stakeholders who want to watch the source.
Inside The Study

Example studies design researchers run in Indeemo

First-use onboarding study

A week-long onboarding study, captured as screen recording with selfie video. "Walk through the sign-up flow when you next have time. Talk us through what you're looking for, what you expect to happen, and what surprises you. Share a 30-second selfie video reflection at the end of session one and session three."

In-context task study

An in-the-moment task: a screen recording and 1 to 5 rating, captured the moment the user reaches for the product. "The next time you try to complete this task in the app, hit record. Talk us through what you're trying to do, then rate how it felt: 1 to 5, and one line on why."

Sample analysis output

Sprint-ready theme map across screen recording, selfie video, and ratings. "Onboarding step 3 abandon rate 6 of 12. Friction cluster: location permission prompt arrives before users see the value. Surfaced across days 2 to 4, not in session one."

"We needed to be propelled deep into these Gen Z lives, to almost be beside them for the music moments that matter to them most."

Indeemo for UX and design research, answered

Can Indeemo run both moderated and unmoderated usability?
Yes. Indeemo supports asynchronous usability (in-the-moment task prompts captured on the participant's own device) and moderated sessions in the same study. Usability researchers often run unmoderated for breadth, then schedule moderated follow-ups with participants whose sessions surfaced the most interesting friction.
Does this fit a two-week design sprint?
Yes. The study can fit the cadence the team needs. A short async task prompt can be in the field within days, with tagged clips and a highlight reel ready for the next stand-up. For deeper questions, run a longitudinal study across the same window the design is being iterated.
What devices and platforms does Indeemo cover?
Participants capture on iOS and Android through the native Indeemo participant app, and on desktop browsers via screen recording. Screen recording captures the actual scroll and tap on the device the participant uses every day, alongside audio narration and selfie video reactions.
How many participants do I need for a usability study?
It depends on the question you're trying to answer. For a single cohort with qualitative depth, 10 to 20 participants is a useful baseline. For multi-cohort studies (e.g. new users vs. power users, iOS vs. Android, market 1 vs. market 2), you can scale from there to whatever the study needs.
How do clips and findings make it into our design tools?
Tagged clips, transcripts, and highlight reels are exportable into tools like Figma, Notion, Jira, Linear, and Slack. Designers can drop a clip into a Figma comment, paste a transcript into a Notion ticket, or share a highlight reel in a Slack thread.
Can we use Indeemo for accessibility research?
Yes. Capturing on the participant's own device means accessibility settings, assistive tech, and adaptive behaviours show up in the recording as they actually use them. Design and usability researchers use Indeemo to study how participants with specific accessibility needs navigate the product in their everyday context.
Is participant video data secure and consent-compliant?
Yes. Indeemo is ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certified, GDPR-aligned, with EU and US data residency options. Participants give consent at onboarding. Researchers can enable facial blurring of participants at ingest where the study calls for additional identity masking.
